Focus on the beat and keep moving when your mind tells you to stop! Pulse class is set to the beat of the music, this full body workout uses ballet and Pilates inspired isometric strength training techniques to build and strengthen long, lean muscles.
Barre fitness is a hybrid workout class - combining ballet-inspired moves with elements of Pilates, dance, yoga and strength training. But the real difference between barre and other workouts are the isometric movements you usually perform - holding your body still while you contract specific muscles, until you shake and feel the burn. Barre delivers a full body workout, the major benefits of barre class are improved posture, muscle definition, weight loss, increased flexibility, and reduced stress. Because ballet barre is low impact, it's great if you recovering from an injury (let the instructor know if you have an injury so they can modify exercises accordingly!). Many barre classes can also be modified so they are a safe workout option for pre or post-natal clients.
Yogilates is a fusion between Yoga and Pilates combining the meditative aspects of Yoga with the strengthening aspects of Pilates. This fusion works well for anyone who is beginning to tire of the usual Pilates and Yoga routines and wants to try something new. The combination of the two different techniques enables you to work the whole body, increase flexibility while at the same time strengthening the core.
Have you ever tried aerial yoga? It's a modern yoga style that uses a soft silk hammock suspended about a meter high, to support yoga poses both in the air and on the mat. The use of the aerial hammock supports about half of your body weight, this makes your practice somewhat easier than regular yoga as more advanced poses, especially inversions such as for example handstand, become available from the first class. In order to stabilise yourself in the hammock, you will also work more on your core muscles than in regular yoga. And at the same time, the hammock takes some pressure off your joints.
Enjoy this short guided meditation with an emphasis on encouraging a greater internal focus, self-awareness, and a more peaceful state of being. During your 30 minutes of peace, we use singing bowls, which are great tools for meditation. Singing bowls have been used in Buddhist traditions for hundreds of years and have gained popularity in the Western World in the past few decades. The bowls remove blockages to energy flow within the chakras, aura and physical body. They relax, re-align and balance the body, mind, heart and soul. The sounds emitted from the bowls are enchanting harmonic tones reminiscent of an angelic choir. The bowls create a feeling of peace in a loving and compassionate way, bringing us back into perfect balance and harmony.
